WAYNE POWERS, If Love Were All

Twenty five years and thousands of life experiences and hard earned lessons after releasing his last album Plain Old Me with his L.A. band Hoi Polloi, Wayne Powers gets his groove, vocal chops and storytelling spirit back on his spirited and irresistible new collection If Love Were All.

His still-sharp skills as a vocal interpreter serve him well as he and his dynamics rich quartet romp through a mix of lighthearted swing and deeply felt ballad arrangements of 14 familiar Great American Songbook chestnuts (“You’ve Changed,” “Body and Soul,” “Just in Time,” etc.). Powers' effortlessness in conveying a wide range of emotions comes from a lifetime as a performer that began as a teen in NYC nightclubs and includes multiple roles as a TV character actor, theatre performer and radio personality.

After conquering so many areas of media, it’s great to see him back in the studio, getting back to his core passion for jazz and singing these songs so beautifully and uniquely.
