In addition to being one of today’s most treasured and Songbook vocal stylists – especially when it comes to charming the fairy dust off classic romantic fare – Judy Whitmore is a bestselling novelist, theatre producer, marriage and family therapist and accomplished pilot and Learjet captain (originally inspired to take to the skies via her old Colorado pal John Denver). Not surprisingly because she’s done everything else (!), Whitmore’s also on the board of directors of both the Pacific Symphony and Pacific Jazz Orchestra.

She connected with the latter’s artistic director and conductor, seven-time Grammy nominated composer/arranger Chris Walden to bring her alternately tender and playful/sassy phrasing to numerous locales on her acclaimed 2024 travel themed album Come Fly With Me. The high synergy duo is back in full swing on Whitmore’s Let’s Fall in Love, which harkens back thematically to her equally heartfelt, spirited and compelling 2022 gem Isnt’ It Romantic?
Offering the perfect, gracefully and tastefully arranged and orchestrated soundtrack for either a single romantic evening or the many phases of a lengthy affair, Whitmore, Walden and a stellar ensemble featuring pianist Josh Nelson and harmonica great Hendrik Muerkens take our hearts for a 12-track, 43 minute spin through more of the most beautiful love songs of all time, sojourning from the lively, brass-tinged exuberance of “I’ll Take Romance” and a sultry spin on Cole Porter’s “All of You” (which prominently features Muerkens) through the cuddle-inducing charmer “Let’s Fall in Love” (a duet with Ty Taylor of L.A. rock soul band Vintage Trouble) and the hushed, dreamy caress of “I’ve Got a Crush on You.”
Those are simply the entry points on Let’s Fall in Love, another masterful tour of Judy Whitmore’s musical heart. Immerse deeper and the pleasures will hit your soul, feet and tear ducts nonstop.
